Palm Sunday Decor

Here's a little look at what I did for Palm Sunday. Of course, palms were pretty necessary. Shopping for them entailed looking at Dollar Tree, Hobby Lobby, Walmart, Amazon, Dayspring, and Dollar General.

If there are other Creative Arts people serving your church out there, please tell me if there is a secret shop for church decor. It seems that I reeeeeaally have to look to find these things! Where is the secret store?? WHERE?

I used two packs of twelve palms from Amazon, one for decor, and one pack for the kids' use. Amazon was the ONLY place I could find them, local stores had NADA, I checked and called within a 30 mile radius! The only thing I didn't do was check with florists for real palms, which could have been an option. I just wanted something we could reuse.

This art (hand for scale) was $5 at Dollar Tree, and it is just beautiful! The gold is foil. I grabbed two and we put them above the sanctuary doors.

I used a combination of tacks, tape, and threading the stems through holes in the supports, to get the palms attached behind our cross. Here's a bad screenshot from the live stream. I can't find a good picture, perhaps because I didn't *take* a good picture. Sigh.

It was pretty!

I had a lot of fun not only shopping for and then attaching the palms, it was just fun decorating in a way that is symbolic of praising Jesus. Incorporating palm leaves made my heart sing a little song.

Hosanna! Hosanna! Hosanna in the highest.
Lord, we lift up your name,
with hearts full of praise.
Be exalted, O Lord my God;
hosanna in the highest.
