...and I highly recommend you do, too. These are a couple things around my house that I grabbed and started painting.
I don't have a fancy video for this next one, but here is a lantern makeover. It was a lovely, wonderful day (my birthday) when I got to sit down and paint these sweet little designs.
I cleaned up the lantern, brightened the blue on the frame, also painted the inside of the frame that was a dark red, took out the glass panels, cleaned them, and painted them.
I chose to make three of the panels represent different seasons: Spring and Summer (a combo), Fall, and Winter. When I didn't know what to do on the front door panel, my son suggested I paint a bit of all the seasons on it. So I did. He's a smart boy.
Also, it is hard to photograph glass.
I questioned whether I should add glitter, but in the end I went for it. You can see some streaky-stickiness from the glitter paint, but it turns out I don't care and it was worth it. (This is a good rule of thumb: add sparkles no matter the cost.) I painted the glitter on the reverse side of the seasonal designs. It is beautiful but also doesn't photograph well. #mamatried
See the sparkles?
And here's the all-seasons front.
So that's it! I hope you're inspired to grab things and start painting!
